The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look unsuited, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer knows the region and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the group reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
